Looks like we have 13 songs - there was discussion of adding the song 500 miles and Lion Sleeps tonight (Mary Williams indicated she would send this one out )
Last Night we discussed:
- James Taylor's Carolina in My Mind - the group was instructed to listen to it- go through it with all verses- and listen to the phrasing
- 59th St Bridge Song- will resend- words and use of CAPO chord progression C, G, Open strum, G) just keep this chord progression throughout ( It was suggested we all purchase the D'Addario Ukulele Pro CAPO)
- Both Sides Now - When the chord is underlined you do the island strum. Otherwise, two down strums per chord.
- Can't Help But Smile - group was divided in half to sing alternate song lines until "NC" (no chord entry) third line "Can't help but" . . . will be sung by Bruce- full Ensemble comes in on the G chord singing "smile" . . . .
- 6th line- words "Feel like we're.. On the word "feel" do the island D7( drop another finger on bottom string )
- 7th line A7 - "all play together"... one stroke and on beat 3 2nd strum. D7 one stroke
- Steve indicated he would send an updated list of songs.
- So... I spent this morning working on the 59th Street Bridge Song, which is attached. The easy chords require a capo... the harder chords can be played without a capo. I think its close to the original, but, as ever, I welcome suggestions. Karen, you may regret wanting the ba da da's!!!
- I've also attached Both Sides now, with the underlined "Island Strum" chords... if you don't already have that version. Note there are two pages...
